L144 is a popular, small, peaceful, yellow bristlenose catfish known for its striking blue eyes, excellent algae-eating, and manageable size (4-6 inches), making it great for community tanks, though males develop prominent bristles and can be territorial, needing driftwood, caves, and a varied omnivorous diet in tanks 30+ gallons with stable parameters.
Key Characteristics
• Appearance: Bright yellow body with vivid blue eyes and bristly appendages (more prominent in males).
• Size: Grows to a manageable 4-6 inches, unlike larger common plecos.
• Temperament: Generally peaceful but males can be territorial; good for community tanks but may eat dwarf shrimp.
